2022 BMW Championship: Bettors Slamming Surprising Underdog To Win FedEx Cup Playoff Event

The FedEx Cup Playoffs are in full swing in the PGA, and after Will Zalatoris won the FedEx St. Jude Championship last week, we turn our attention the BMW Championship.

Ahead of this weekend’s pivotal tournament, it was revealed by sports books that Rory McIlroy is set to be the odds-on favorite to win the BMW Championship.

However, another golfer other than Rory McIlroy is currently receiving the most bets by handle to win the BMW Championship.

Check out the full list of most bet golfers, released by Caesers Sportsbook:

  • Cameron Young 11.3%
  • Jon Rahm 9.5%
  • Collin Morikawa 8.9%
  • Tony Finau 8.7%
  • Scottie Scheffler 5.5%

Despite rumors that he was leaving the PGA Tour to join LIV Golf, reports surfaced that Cameron Young was in attendance for the players only PGA meeting today, where they discussed how to improve their tour in order to compete with LIV.

Tiger Woods flew in to speak at the meeting.

“I think it shows how much he cares about the players that are coming through and are going to be the next generation,” McIlroy said of Tiger’s presence at the meeting. “Like it or not, they can’t really sell Tiger Woods anymore. The tour had an easy job for 20 years. They don’t have Tiger. They’ve got a bunch of us and we’re all great players, but we’re not Tiger Woods. We’re moving into a different era, and we just have to think about things a little differently.”

Regardless of all the LIV Golf noise circulating, the BMW Championship this weekend should be a great event. And if bettors are on to something, perhaps Cameron Young will make a weekend charge.

He’s currently +2200 to win this weekend.
