Succession Plan Reportedly In Place After Jay Wright Shockingly Retires From Villanova

It appears as though Villanova coach Jay Wright didn’t need a whole retirement tour.

Late Wednesday afternoon, it was reported that the legendary head coach has decided to step down from his post at Villanova following 20+ seasons at the helm.

After it was announced that Jay Wright was shockingly calling it quits, it was reported that a succession plan is already in place for Fordham head coach Kyle Neptune to take over at Villanova.

Kyle Neptune’s coaching career began under Jay Wright as a video coordinator in 2008.

After a short stint at Niagra, Neptune returned to Villanova to work as an assistant under Wright for eight seasons prior to taking the Fordham gig.

Apparently, Jay Wright felt comfortable enough with Kyle Neptune to trust him with the program he built from the ground up.

Congrats to Wright on a remarkable career!
